Hello, thank you for visiting my website, my name is Dr Desiree Scarpellini and I hope you find the information here useful.

I am experienced in working with individuals, couples and groups 'in vivo' (face to face) and remotely (e.g. telephone, WhatsApp and video conferencing online). In terms of my approach, I provide confidential time-limited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), research-informed couple and relationship therapy, open-ended integrative psychotherapy and post-therapy 'ad hoc' consultations. My clinics are based in South West London (SW5), and the Chilterns, South Buckinghamshire (WD3).

I hold British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Psychologist (membership number 170347); I am a Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC Registration number: PYL30687)


I hold current Professional Liability and Indemnity Insurance, Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (EDBS) certification.

I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller. so as to ensure that your/my client/service user/patient data is gathered, stored, used and

A prerequisite of my professional registration is that I meet regularly with a clinical 'supervisor', and that I undertake ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Regular meetings with an experienced clinical supervisor are considered a means to ensuring consistency of practice and clinical safety.
Undertaking relevant Continuing Psychological Development (CPD) is considered a means to honouring my commitment to lifelong learning and cultivating my competencies as a psychological therapist.

I can assure you that my duty of confidentiality extends to how I discuss my clinical work with my clinical supervisor/s, and any clinical material that I use in the course of experiential CPD and clinical audits by regulating bodies.

This means that I will not share your personal information with others, unless there is an agreed or legal basis for doing so. For example, I will share your information when you have provided formal consent to do so, either with the third party or directly to me. The legal basis for breaking confidentiality.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a regulatory requirement that I welcome and take seriously. This commitment enables my clients and service users to benefit from empirically supported principles and practices that may a good fit. It also means that I am well placed to acknowledge my limitations and recommend onward referral when my approach cannot meet your needs or be of use for supporting you to alleviate your presenting problems.

Overview of CPD aims for 2019-2020:

1. I am working towards certification in ‘Schema Therapy’. Schema Therapy is a 'third wave' Cognitive Behavioural therapeutic approach that is aimed at treating individuals who present with longstanding interpersonal and self-identity difficulties.

2. I am working towards completion of 'Gottman Method Couples’ Therapy' Level 3 Certification. Level 1 was completed in April 2019, and Level 2 training was in October 2019. I await notification of the provision of the first UK Gottman Level 3 Training so that I can complete the training.
