About me. Square_Portrait_1

Welcome.

Hello, thank you for visiting my website, my name is Dr Desiree Scarpellini and I hope you find the information here useful.

I am experienced in working with individuals and couples face to face and online. In terms of my approach, I provide confidential time-limited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method couple and relationship therapy, and open-ended integrative psychotherapy in the Chilterns, South Buckinghamshire and online.

I hold British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Psychologist (membership number 170347); I am a Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC Registration number: PYL30687)

I hold current Professional Liability and Indemnity Insurance, Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (EDBS) certification and I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller.

A prerequisite of my professional registration is that I meet regularly with a clinical 'supervisor', and that I undertake ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Regular meetings with an experienced clinical supervisor are considered a means to ensuring consistency of practice and clinical safety. Undertaking relevant CPD is considered a means to honouring my commitment to lifelong learning and cultivating my competencies as a psychological therapist.

My duty of confidentiality extends to how I discuss my clinical work with my clinical supervisor/s, and any clinical material that I use in the course of experiential CPD and clinical audits by regulating bodies.
This means that I will not share your personal information with others, unless there is an agreed or legal basis for doing so. For example, I will share your information when you have provided formal consent to do so, either with the third party or directly to me. The legal basis for breaking confidentiality
1. You are harming yourself
2. Another person or people are harming you.
3. You are harming another person/people.
